Udta Punjab Trailer Review
On hearing the title when it was announced, assumed it to be a happy film on Punjab. But the first look posters and this trailer has changed the perspective. It has comedy but a dark one, and a subject strong on drug content.
In the beginning of the trailer, a voice over claims that “70% of the Punjab is infested with drugs, if nothing is done about this, Punjab will turn in to Mexico”. Well I’m not well verse about the situation on drugs in that state but sounds grave and this film, may bring a positive effect or would become aggressive.
The film stars three biggies in the industry Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt with Diljit Dosanjh. The trailer is quite unique and has a good ring to it in terms of filmmaking. Abhishek Chaubey from the fame of “Ishqiya” series, have directed this film. With that being said we can expect some raw comedy coming our way. The dialogues are witty, Shahid looks terrific, Alia in her de-glam look and Kareena in a subtle role. Diljit is something we would look forward for, as he seems like a promising one. The film has Amit Trivedi composing the songs and the background score is by Naren Chandavarkar & Benedict Taylor. The cinematography is by Rajeev Ravi and is edited by Meghna Sen.
The film is slated to release on 17th June 2016, hope it hits the screens in Tamilnadu without any censor issues. Waiting to get high on Punjab.
