Superstar Rajinikanth had shared a video earlier today in which director turned politician Seeman and his party workers attacked a policeman. Rajinikanth said that this form of violence has to be tackled immediately as it would become a great danger to the country.
Seeman and the followers of his Naam Tamizhar Katchi protested against the IPL match held yesterday in Chennai. Naam Tamizhar Katchi is said to have allegedly attacked policemen and young Chennai Super Kings fans on Wednesday. According to the party workers, IPL match is diverting the focus of youngsters from the Cauvery and Sterlite issues.
Reacting to the unruly behavior of Seeman and his party folks, Rajinikanth tweeted “The worst form of violence in law and order situation is attack on uniformed personnel on duty. This form of violence has to be tackled immediately as it poses grave danger to our country. We need more stringent laws to punish the perpetrators of attack on police personnel on duty”.
While many people have appreciated Rajinikanth’s strong statement, there were also questions on why the actor remained silent when cops attacked public during the Jallikattu protest. Apparently, Kamal Haasan voiced out against the unruly act of cops at Jallikattu protest but he is yet to comment on the violence broke out yesterday in Chennai against IPL.
