What is it about: It’s a story about an underdog, who grows up to be a liquor Barron. What happens during this journey forms the crux of the story directed by Rahul Dholakia.

Why it’s disappointing: There were hardly anything to disappoint in this film. Except for few bumps in the screenplay which takes a pause at few points in the name of songs and couple of lagging scenes.

What to watch out for: It’s been ages a film of this genre and in the style and tradition which Bollywood use to follow in the 80’s-90’s. The film was laid well with a screenplay which is quite tight with great actors performing it to the finest.

Director Rahul Dholakia did a fine job in pitting Shahrukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui against each other. This pairing brought a great dynamism on screen. And that served as a treat to the fans of both the actors.

The high point of the film became their dialogues, punchlines and delivery which was meticulously written and was powerfully churned out by SRK and Nawazuddin. There are a few of them, which the audience enjoyed it thoroughly hooting and applauding. All we can say is, if SRK was “Sher”, Nawazuddin was “Sava Sher”.

Mahira Khan was a newbie to Bollywood, even though she didn’t have much to perform, she did a commendable job for the period given to her. Definitely she will continue her journey in Bollywood.

Atul Kulkarni did a fine job and so did Narendra Jha. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Sadiq was a commendable one.

The cinematography by Mohanan was delectable, which was backed by a sharp edit by Deepa Bhatia. Ram Sampath did a great job on background score, he did lose out on the songs front but gained on Sunny Leone’s “Laila ‘O’ Laila”.

Verdict: Rahul Dholakia, did a great job in bringing together two powerful actors together on screen. And that worked out wonders for him, making this one a full-on Bollywood commercial entertainer. Definitely worth a watch.
