Karthik Subbaraj’s silent thriller film ‘Mercury’ will be releasing on April 13 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. The producers of Mercury are also eyeing for a wide release in overseas because the film has no language. There are questions in Tamil film trade on the release possibility of Mercury in Tamil Nadu. We all know Tamil Film Producers Council has ordered all the producers that there shouldn’t be any new film release during the current strike period.
But the producers of Mercury are planning to release the film on April 13 because they say that their film can’t be termed as a single language film. As the overseas premieres are scheduled on April 12, Mercury will be releasing on the previously announced schedule and there won’t be any changes.
In an earlier press statement, the producers also revealed the synopsis of the film. Mercury focuses on five long-time friends, all of whom are maimed as a result of their town’s mercury poisoning, who come together for their high school reunion. But a moment of mischief and misfortune during the after-party puts them on a one-way road to hell.
