Yesterday, Kamal Haasan went to Tuticorin as he personally wanted to console the families which affected losing their loved ones at the violence broke out in the Sterlite protest. Previously, the actor condemned the open fire in the Sterlite through his statement from Makkal Needhi Maiam.
“The peaceful protest by the people of Tuticorin against Sterlite, demanding justice was ignored by the Governments. Negligence of the Governments is the reason for all the unfortunate incidents. Citizens are not criminals. They are ones who lose their lives; earlier due to Sterlite and now due to the Government’s orders. Everybody should maintain peace”, said Kamal Haasan who also asked why the internet has been blocked in Tuticorin and in the neighboring districts—Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari.
“Internet connection cut in Thooththukkudi? Alarming! What next? excommunicate Tamilnadu? TN would see an uprising, much bigger than any, in its history. No Government is strong enough to take on the might of my people”, tweeted Kamal Haasan.
Reacting against the cops who filed FIR against Kamal Haasan, Vishal tweeted “Am I hearing something bizarre. FIR on @ikamalhaasan sir??? For meeting the innocent affected ppl of Tuticorin. Wat the hell. If this is true. It is nothin but an act of sheer atrocity.if an actor /politician/socially responsible person can’t go der. Den who can???god save us”, tweeted Vishal.
