Bollywood Box Office Updates Jan 3rd week: After beating his own film at oversees life time earners, SRK’s Dilwale has moved ahead of My name is khan and grabbed the 5th spot in top ten oversees earners.
Dilwale has managed to collect a whopping $23.3 million and surpassed the record set by My name is Khan which collected a mammoth $23 million back in 2010.
Wazir has dropped to a record low on Wednesday and went on to collect only 1.88 crores. Comparing it with Friday’s collection it is not a huge drop but considering Farhan Akhter’s star value and previous films collections it is a poor performance from a film that stars Mr. Amitabh Bachan. Wazir has even collected 12 lacs less than Shaadi Ke side effects which was released last to last year. Considering Farhan’s last four performances this was the weakest in terms of both acting and collections.
Airlift is all set to storm the screens on 22nd January. With no major release in upcoming week, film will have a bright chance of collecting some magical numbers at box office. Airlift will have a tough competition from Kya kool hain hum 3 which is releasing on the same date.
As per now both the films have brilliant buzz but both of them are from different genres thus targeting different markets. As per trade Airlift will dominate multiplexes while KKHH 3 will have a upper hand in single screens. Airlift is releasing on the same weekend in which Baby was released last year, earning critics appreciation but couldn’t perform above expectation at box office. Even the clash scenario is same as well, Baby clashed with Dolly ki dolly. The best case scenario for Airlift will be collecting a 10+ crores on opening day. Word of mouth is already positive as per trailer review but the original review will be out once the film will start its run. It is the only possible film in January which can earn 100 crores at box office.
